Poked and Up Close
Monday, January 1st, 2007By Dan Cornell
In a conversation with someone, I was reminded of the reality that bringing ourselves into some form of accountability is never easy. You agree to pay the price tag of privacy…which is not cheap.
As I have both enjoyed and been uncomfortably stretched through accountability, I have found it in several scenario’s. Through Heidi, as my wife, she brings accountability as she gets to see me “up close” and see’s faults/weaknesses like no other person in my life. Then there is they guy I meet with weekly who pokes and prods, encourages and corrects as we share how our faith and life are meshing together. Finally there is my L.I.F.E. Group. As we have been together for just over a year, trust is being built and lives are being shared.
These are not fool-proof ways to grow, but at times difficult means of making sure that my life is a part of something bigger than Dan Cornell. I hope that your Christmas celebration was deep and meaningful and your New Year is full of Christ’s work in you and through you.
